Here at Virundhu Street Kitchen, we pride ourselves on producing Sri Lankan street food ‘the way it is meant to be’. Our varied menu is an intriguing discovery of sublime flavours and textures, all created to signature recipes that have been handed down through the generations of our head chef's family.

Each dish on our menu interweaves wonderful ingredients bringing a new flavour with every mouthful. Our menu focuses heavily on street food for "short eats" as they are known in Sri Lanka, portions of food that are perfect for sharing, so you can eat your way through the whole menu!

Our cuisine is influenced by different regions of Sri Lanka but with a particular emphasis on the cuisine of the northern province of Jaffna.

Signature dishes include Kottu Roti, Dosa Trio, Mutton Rolls and Sri Lankan biriyani. For those of our guests not familiar with Sri Lankan cuisine, our warm, friendly and hospitable staff are staff are on hand to explain each of their dishes and ensure that they are cooked to your taste preferences and satisfaction.

Vegetarians are very well catered for and our knowledgeable staff will be able to advise on allergens and which dishes can be adapted for any dietary preferences that you may have.

“Having never had Sri Lankan food before we thought we would visit this restaurant for lunch. The waiter was extremely helpful describing the various dishes, indicating how hot/spicy each dish was. We absolutely loved the gorgeous flavours, so very different from Indian cuisine, much more flavoursome. The experience was almost similar to having a tapas but Sri Lankan style, certainly worth a second visit.”
